As you guys can probably tell by the title I recently bleached my hair. I bleached my hair with my friend Jacqueline and this was our first time doing anything to my hair besides cutting it. I was actually kind of scared because we were doing it on ourselves so it was a little nerve-wrecking but it turned out really well! Originally we were going to dye our tips red but since both of our hair is black we had to bleach it first and after bleaching our hair we decided to keep it that way.
The actual procedure took about 2-3 hours mainly because we kept goofing around and because our hair is black. The dye/bleach kit we used was Luscious Raspberries By Splat.
To make sure we didn't get any bleach anywhere we wore old shirts and put paper towels all over the bathroom counter and the floor and it ended up looking like this:

Next I divided my friends hair into two sections and tied it right where she wanted the bleach to start. I then made the bleach the way the instructions told me to and proceeded to slather it all over the tied off part of her hair. Next, I wrapped it in aluminium foil and we waited for the bleach to work. ten minutes later we checked her hair and we realized that the bleach hadn't got in to the middle part of the little ponytails so we had to add more bleach. 30 minutes later she washed her hair out with water and shampoo.
After this we started to do my hair! I decided to do four separate sections instead of two because my hair is VERY thick. We did the same process for me but we made sure that the bleach was all over the ponytail. since my hair was really thick it took almost 50 minutes to bleach. We both loved our final "results"... Until the next morning.
I woke up the next morning and my hair felt as dry as hay and I was " Noooooooooooo my hair can never be fixed" but I was wrong. My mom suggested hat I put coconut oil in my hair and then wash it out. So that's what I did and the results were amazing!!! My hair felt the same as it did before I bleached it and even a week later after putting oil in my hair it feels very healthy and soft.
I hope that anybody who is thinking about bleaching their hiar finds this helpful!
